Top 5 ways to prepare for a 1:1 Coaching Call

Preparing for your coaching call is essential for getting the most out of your time together. In this blog post, I'll share the top 5 ways you can prepare for a 1:1 coaching call together.

These tips will help you gain clarity, direction, and insights, so that before we've even met, you can begin to take confident decisive action to live your most unapologetic life.

You can use the button below to book your 90min Coaching Call + 2 weeks support.

1. Presence

Be present and focused: During our coaching call, it's essential to be present and focused. Prior to joining the call, take 5 mins before hand to eliminate distractions so that you can be fully present.

  • Close down work emails

  • Turn your phone onto do not disturb

  • Let any loved ones know that you're not available for the next 90mins.

  • Nip to the loo

  • Grab a glass of water or hot drink

  • Make sure you're warm and comfortable - if you need a pillow or blanket get one

  • Grab a note pad & paper

  • Ensure you've eaten prior to our call.

(If you're anything like me, when your hungry you struggle to concentrate!)

Ensuring that you have taken this time to minimise distractions will help you absorb the insights, wisdom and guidance from our time together.

2. Permission

It's important to give yourself permission to be fully present during your coaching call.

Remember, you deserve to gift yourself this time and let go of any guilt associated with taking care of yourself.

It's natural to feel anxious or nervous before the call, yet, allow yourself to feel these emotions and trust that as soon as we're together, you'll feel relieved and happy that you booked it!

So give yourself permission to be fully present and ready to receive guidance and support. You are deserving of this!

3. Honesty

Be open and honest. The amazing women and men I coach, both past and present have told me I naturally create a calming yet empowering space to be in.

I will be in a confidential space, with my headphones on; making sure that our online coaching call is just you and I.

I'm reminding you that coaching is a safe space, one where you can be open and honest about your thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

If being vulnerable is a skill you are building (one that I think we all always are!) then this can feel uneasy at first, yet, remember being vulnerable shows a sign of strength and courage and is essential for both your growth and progress.

Honesty is also one of my key values and I hope that experiencing the way I am, will inspire you to do the same.

4. Thought Preparation

It's important to come prepared for our call; bring a note pad and pen and take some time well in advance of the call to jot down anything that's on your mind or anything that's important to you and that you want to get out of the session.

(Yet, remember, it's also my job to help you make sense of what's going on and together we'll use the 4 C's: Connect, Clarity, Clear focus, and Calm to create a plan that brings clarity and helps you feel grounded, so you can go from feeling stuck, emotional, and frustrated to feeling clear, relieved, positive, and purposeful.

This is a unique structure which I've developed through a decade in this field; which is rooted in Psychology, Strategy and Spirituality.)

Having a clear understanding of your goals will help you gain the most benefits from your coaching call and ensure we can maximise our time together. Additionally, come prepared with questions for us to discuss, that will help you gain clarity and direction.

5. Action after

After our coaching call, ensure that you take action on the insights and guidance you received. Our focused time together, will enable us to identify your unique plan & the specific actions you can take to excel forward in your life.

So be committed to taking the actions that you and I agreed upon and I promise you, you will notice such powerful, positive and empowering shifts happen in your beautiful life.

As your 'sidekick' and biggest supporter, I'll be there for you in the two weeks following our coaching call. You'll have access to me for ongoing support and accountability, so you can continue feeling calm, confident & grounded, helping you stay on track and achieving your goals.

You will have me literally in your back pocket! Instant access to reassurance, pep talks, and a reminder of your bespoke strategies - whenever you need them so that you can continue taking confident, decisive action towards becoming your best self.

I hope these tips were helpful and made you excited for our call.
